About Battery Types in Portable Power Stations.

In portable power stations, you may find different batteries. You mostly see NCM (Li-NMC) batteries and LiFePO4 (LFP) batteries. Both types are Lithium-ion, but their chemistries are different.

About the Capacity of a Portable Power Station

Wh or watt-hour.

The capacity of a portable power station - or more precisely a battery within the station - is measured Wh - an abbreviation of watt-hours. A higher 'Wh' number means more power and more hours you can power your devices/appliances.

Amps.
You may also see amps indicated as Ah or mAh. Ah means Ampere hour and expresses the current capacity of the battery (1,000 mAh = 1Ah).
The watt-hour indication is a more accurate measure.

A 480W (wattage) battery of 12 Volt means 40 amps (480 / 12), so in this example is the battery 40Ah.

To power your devices/appliances.
All devices/appliances require a wattage on which they function. Usually, you can find the wattage on the devices. The higher the wattage, the more power has to be delivered by the portable power station.

More output power from the station means fewer hours that it can deliver power to the devices, which depends on the watt-hours of the power station.

Charge time calculation.
For example, a power station with a capacity of 500Wh can run a device of 50W for roughly 10 hours (500 / 50). And a device of 100W can be run for about 5 hours through the power station.
It also means that when the power station features two outlets of 100 watts, then at the same time, two devices of 100 watts can be powered for about 2.5 hours
