What's going on when it comes to rumors about a newly developed but not (yet) available Nextel phone with a supposed model number of i830. Or should we say Motorola i830?

And indeed, Nextel introduces the Motorola i830, claiming it is the smallest walkie-talkie phone available in North America.

This i830 has a metallic bronze or silver colored clam-style design, a 65K color display and the phone features A-GPS and Nextel's Push-To-Talk technology.
A-GPS enables the only real time turn-by-turn visual and audible driving directions available from a domestic carrier.

Nextel Communications indicates that this Motorola i830 is designed for mobile business professionals and individuals that demand full functionality in an ultra compact form.
Functionalities such as A-GPS for location-based applications / services and Direct Connect(R), which allows you to instantly contact more than 13 million Nextel, Nextel Partners, NII Holdings and Telus subscribers throughout the continental United States, Hawaii, Canada, Peru, Argentina and Brazil.

This Motorola i830 phone has also features such as:
Speakerphone for convenient hands-free conversations
Voice recorder for capturing memos or incoming phone conversations for future playback (subject to state and federal law regarding privacy))
Pre-loaded applications and games such as Advanced Calculator, TeleNav 2.2 with compass, a 3D Baseball demo and Tetris puzzle game demo.
Airplane mode: turn off the network connection and use applications, games, voice recorder and date book while in flight (subject to FAA regulations)
External screen,- showing the time, date and caller ID(2) without the need to open the flip phone; (Caller ID is a network and subscription dependent feature).
