Here's how Motorola announces their new music phone development the ROKR E2 as:

Motorola is showcasing ROKR E2 music phone for consumers at the 2006 International Consumer Electronics Show, where visitors can experience innovations that enable enriched wireless communications, home entertainment, and on-the-go productivity.

With the ROKR E2 you can switch seamlessly between phone calls and music play lists simply by touching a button. says Motorola.
Equipped with a Linux operating system to enhance speed and flexibility, this music phone also has a MP3 player compatible with a variety of different audio formats, which make the ROKR E2 a powerful example of what it means to be "the device formerly known as the cell phone", says Motorola.

Loading music
According to Motorola, this new music phone makes loading music simple. You can connect it to a compatible computer using a USB 2.0 cable. You can then copy digital music files from your computer-based music collection directly to the phone. Each song takes only seconds to transfer from the PC to the phone.

Motorola indicates that actual capacity is subject to available storage space on the phone's memory card. Storage capacity is approximate and based on 4 minutes per song and 128Kbps AAC encoding.

If you buy additonal storage, say up to 2GB of optional removable SD™ mass memory, the ROKR E2 lets you store as many as 500 of your favorite tunes, as well as create and manage playlists. And, you can also listen to the radio as this new music phone also comes with built-in FM radio functionality.

Audio
Dedicated music keys let you navigate playlists, as well as play/pause, skip backward/forward, and hold. You can use a standard 3.5mm headset or the built-in stereo Bluetooth® audio connection. Quite a few music accessories will be available to optimize your ROKR E2 experience including the newly announced O ROKR Eyewear, Motorola Bluetooth DJ Headphones S805, and JBL OnTour™ Mobile.
This new music phone also comes with airplane mode, allowing you to safely listen while on the ground or in the air. There are other multimedia features such as a 1.3 megapixel camera for pictures, video capture and playback and SCREEN3 technology for zero-click access to news, sports and entertainment content.

Is this Motorola ROKR for sale?
Well, the ROKR E2 is expected to be available in the first half of 2006.
