Vodafone introduces solar charger for mobile phones per June '05.
As Vodafone states: Solar energy, it is free, environmentally friendly and available almost everywhere. After a successful test Vodafone is the first mobile operator in the Netherlands to introduce the Vodafone Solar Charger, a handy charger equipped with solar cells for your mobile phone or PDA. The Vodafone Solar Charger, developed by the Netherlands-based Soldius company, will be available in all 75 Vodafone City Points from Monday 20 June. It can also be ordered on the Vodafone online shop at www.vodafone.nl. The launch of the Vodafone Solar Charger fits in perfectly with Vodafone's aim to develop sustainable products and services, says the operator.

Everybody has experienced it one time or another: you want to make a mobile call while you're in the train or on the beach and your battery is dead. And there is no socket in sight. At such moments you require a fast and simple solution to charge the battery. The operator now introduces the Vodafone Solar Charger, a small device with solar cells with which you can charge your mobile phone everywhere.

How to use.
The Vodafone Solar Charger is a flat box containing a small solar collector. To charge your phone you need to fold out the box, put it in daylight and connect it to your mobile phone or PDA. Not only is the solar charger handy, it is also friendly to the environment. It is suitable for nearly all usual mobile handsets and PDA's, says the operator.
