i850 Nextel Motorola Camera Phone with Enhanced Communication Functions
July '05, Nextel Communications Inc. and Motorola Inc. launched the Motorola i850,
a feature-rich camera phone that combines enhanced communication features with a compact, sleek design, say the launching parties.
They announce this i850 ( also called Nextel i850) as a camera phone which is perfect for multitasking with many ways to communicate.
In addition to Nextel's Nationwide Direct Connect(R) and International Direct Connect(SM)(1) services (Airtime, data charges, and/or additional charges apply) that allow instant coast-to-coast and country-to-country communication at the touch of a button, this Motorola i850 Nextel, also offers other unique walkie-talkie options.
The Group Connect(SM) (Airtime, data charges, and/or additional charges apply) service allows group walkie-talkie conversations with up to 21 participants nationwide, and the groups can be directly arranged on the phone within seconds. The Direct Talk(SM) service enables short-range walkie-talkie communications in areas without network coverage, depending on certain conditions such as terrain. Nextel Direct Send(SM) enalbes their users to send contact information to another Direct Send capable phone within seconds simply by pushing the walkie-talkie button.
This i850 Nextel Motorola offers Nextel Multimedia Messaging service (Airtime, data charges, and/or additional charges apply), enabling a high level of expression and personalization by allowing messages to include text, images and audio altogether.
This handset allows these messages to be sent from several locations - eliminating needless extra steps on the phone - including the Message Center where voicemail and multimedia messages can be managed in one central location.
Furthermore, the handset's built-in 310K digital camera has the ability to set lighting, picture quality and picture size. All of this for only $0.25 per sent or received message, parties say.
So, it looks like we're having here a multitasker phone, with the ability to perform several functions, including advanced walkie-talkie and multimedia-messaging capabilities, complemented with its integrated camera and downloadable games (Airtime, data charges, and/or additional charges apply).
Other features include:
